Hole Em All: Collect Master

I spent time with Hole Em All: Collect Master as a quick-play puzzle game built around one simple action: moving a black hole to collect objects from the board. That idea is easy to understand within seconds, but the appeal comes from deciding where to move first, what to absorb, and how to clear a level without wasting opportunities. It is the kind of game I can open for a short break without needing a tutorial-heavy commitment.

The central concept is deliberately approachable. You guide the hole around a compact puzzle space, gather what is available, and work toward clearing the challenge. The enjoyment is less about complicated controls and more about reading the layout, spotting a useful route, and correcting yourself when an early move creates a poor position. For players who like casual brain teasers with a physical, visual twist, this is a much more active experience than simply matching colors or swapping tiles.

How the black-hole puzzles feel in everyday play

I find the black-hole idea works best when I treat each board as a small route-planning problem, not just a race to collect whatever is closest. That gives a short session a satisfying pause for thought and makes the first move feel more deliberate. The same hands-on simplicity also shapes how the game compares with other puzzle styles.

A simple control scheme with room for better decisions

The first thing I noticed is how quickly the interaction becomes familiar. Dragging the hole feels natural on a touchscreen, so the game does not put a barrier between the idea and the action. That matters in a puzzle game intended for short sessions: I can start thinking about the board instead of thinking about which button does what.

That simplicity should not be confused with complete mindlessness. A good move is often about order. If I rush toward the nearest object, I may leave a less convenient item behind or make the next part of the board harder to approach. I found myself slowing down after the first few attempts, scanning the whole arrangement before dragging. The game rewards that small pause, especially when the board presents several possible paths.

There is also a useful distinction between playing to finish and playing to improve. A casual player can focus on collecting everything and moving forward, while a more deliberate player can replay a puzzle to find a cleaner route. That gives the basic mechanic a little more depth than the store summary suggests, even though the controls remain easy enough for a child or a first-time puzzle player.

Why the format works for short breaks

I would place this game closer to a pocket-sized mental reset than to a long-form strategy title. A realistic use case is a bus ride, a waiting room, or the few minutes before dinner is ready. I can play a challenge, put the phone down, and return later without needing to remember a complicated story or a large set of rules.

That convenience also creates the main limitation. If you want a puzzle game with a rich narrative, extensive planning, or a deep competitive system, this is probably too lightweight. Its appeal depends on the satisfaction of manipulating the hole and solving the immediate layout. Players who need a strong sense of progression beyond individual puzzles may find the loop repetitive sooner than fans of more elaborate puzzle adventures.

What I learned from playing more carefully

My most useful habit was to treat the hole as a route-planning tool rather than a vacuum that should simply chase the closest object. Before dragging, I looked for clusters, narrow approaches, and objects that might be awkward to reach after the hole moved elsewhere. This turned otherwise obvious boards into small exercises in sequencing.

A second helpful approach was to use the edge of the play area as a reference. Instead of making broad, uncertain movements, I could move along a predictable line and make smaller corrections near the next target. That made my actions feel more controlled and reduced the number of accidental detours. It is a modest technique, but it makes the game more satisfying when a level seems cluttered.

I also found value in not treating every failed attempt as wasted time. A quick restart or replay can reveal that the problem was not the control itself but the opening choice. In this type of puzzle, the first few seconds often determine how comfortable the rest of the board will be. Watching that relationship between the opening move and the later route is one of the more interesting parts of the experience.

Free access and what that means for value

The game is free to install, which makes trying it straightforward. You do not need to pay before discovering whether the black-hole mechanic suits you. For someone who downloads puzzle games cautiously, that is a meaningful advantage: the initial decision is about time and interest rather than an upfront purchase.

There are in-app purchases ranging from $0.99 to $99.99 per item. Because those purchases cover a very broad range, I would not judge the game solely by the presence of optional spending. Instead, I would approach it as a free game and decide whether the basic play experience already feels worthwhile before considering anything extra. The free entry point is clear; the personal value of purchases depends on what appears during a particular player’s use and how much they want to spend.

That distinction is important. A free download can offer good value even when a player never buys anything, provided the core puzzles are enjoyable enough to justify the time. On the other hand, someone who dislikes recurring purchase prompts or feels pressured to spend in casual games may prefer a paid puzzle with a simpler cost structure. I would not recommend buying anything immediately. I would first play long enough to decide whether the main mechanic has staying power for me.

Where it sits beside familiar puzzle alternatives

Compared with match-three games, this feels more spatial and less dependent on forming combinations. You are not mainly searching for identical symbols or planning a chain reaction. You are physically guiding one object through a space, so the challenge comes from movement and order. That makes it a better fit for someone who wants a puzzle with a visible sense of motion.

Compared with traditional block or number puzzles, the experience is more tactile and less abstract. Those alternatives often reward long-term board management, while this game focuses attention on the current arrangement and the route through it. I prefer the black-hole format when I want immediate feedback and a clear objective, but I would choose a number puzzle when I want a slower, more analytical session.

It also differs from story-driven puzzle adventures. There is less reason to play for characters or plot and more reason to play for the small satisfaction of solving the next layout. That is not a weakness by itself, but it defines the audience. If atmosphere and narrative are what keep you engaged, another category will probably give you more value for your time.

Small frictions that affect the experience

The biggest trade-off is repetition. The black-hole mechanic is appealing because it is focused, but the same focus can make sessions feel similar if you play for too long. I enjoyed it more when I treated it as a series of short challenges rather than an all-evening game. The format naturally supports that rhythm, and forcing a longer session can expose its limited variety.

Another consideration is precision. Dragging is accessible, but touchscreen movement is not the same as placing a piece on a fixed grid. When I moved too quickly, I sometimes had to correct my route. That is not a serious flaw, and it can even make the action feel more physical, but players who want completely exact, turn-based input may find it less comfortable than a conventional tile puzzle.

The game is rated for Everyone, which matches its straightforward concept and accessible presentation. I would still separate age suitability from personal preference. A game can be appropriate for a broad audience while remaining too repetitive for an adult who wants demanding logic problems. In my view, the age rating tells you that the concept is broadly approachable, not that every player will find the challenge equally deep.

Who is most likely to enjoy it

I would recommend this to people who like casual puzzles, quick retries, and controls that can be understood immediately. It is especially suitable for someone who wants a simple game to keep on a phone for spare moments. The visual idea of a hole consuming objects gives the usual collection task a playful identity, and the drag-based interaction makes the result feel more active than tapping through a menu of answers.

It can also work for families looking for an easy-to-explain puzzle. Since the game carries an Everyone rating and the objective is visually clear, a younger player can understand the basic goal without a long explanation. An adult can still add a little strategy by discussing route order and planning, although I would not present it as a substitute for a dedicated educational logic tool.

The game is less suitable for players who want a one-time premium purchase with no in-app spending to consider. It is also not my first choice for someone seeking highly complex puzzles, a campaign with a strong story, or a competitive leaderboard-centered experience. Those players may get more from a paid logic game, a narrative puzzle adventure, or a deeper strategy title.

Device and version details worth checking

The current version is 1.3.6, and the game requires Android 8.0 or later. That makes the minimum software requirement relevant if you are using an older phone or tablet. I would check the operating system before downloading, particularly on a spare device that has not received updates recently.

BRAINWORKS PUBLISHING PTE. LTD. is the developer, and the game has reached over one million installs with an average rating of 4.4 from around thirteen thousand ratings. Those figures suggest that the concept has found a sizeable casual audience, but they should not replace your own judgment. Ratings can tell me that many people are comfortable trying the game; they cannot tell me whether its repetition level matches my taste.

The game has also collected around five hundred reviews, which gives potential players more public feedback to explore if they want to compare experiences. I would pay particular attention to comments about session length, purchase comfort, and puzzle variety rather than focusing only on the overall score. Those are the areas most likely to determine whether this specific format remains enjoyable after the initial novelty.

My practical approach to getting value from it

If I were recommending it to a friend, I would suggest starting with short sessions and resisting the urge to rush through every board. The best part is not merely watching the hole collect objects; it is noticing how the route changes when I choose a different starting direction. Taking a moment to inspect the layout gives the mechanic more substance and helps separate thoughtful play from random dragging.

I would also keep spending separate from enjoyment. Since the game is free to install but includes in-app purchases from $0.99 to $99.99 per item, I would decide on a personal limit before exploring optional purchases. That keeps the value calculation honest: first ask whether the free experience is fun, then decide whether any paid addition is worth considering. A purchase should improve an already enjoyable routine, not be used to discover whether the routine is enjoyable at all.

For a child, I would make that spending conversation especially clear before handing over the device. The Everyone rating makes the game broadly accessible, but it does not remove the need for sensible purchase controls. For an adult playing alone, the same principle still applies because a low-cost first option can feel harmless while larger items may change the overall value quickly.

My final recommendation

Hole Em All: Collect Master earns my recommendation as a free casual puzzle for short, tactile sessions. Its strongest quality is the clarity of its central action: move the hole, read the board, choose a route, and collect what you can. That makes it welcoming for new players while leaving enough room for better sequencing and more careful movement.

I would skip it if my priority were deep logic, a substantial story, or a straightforward paid purchase with no optional spending to weigh. The game’s focused loop can become repetitive, and the broad range of in-app purchase prices means I would approach extras carefully rather than assuming every player will receive equal value from them.

For the right person, though, the free entry point is useful and the idea is distinct enough to stand apart from ordinary matching or number puzzles. My verdict is to try it without spending first, play it in short bursts, and judge it by how often you genuinely want to solve one more layout. If that simple black-hole movement keeps feeling satisfying, it can be a pleasant pocket puzzle; if you need variety or depth above all else, another puzzle style will be the better choice.
